The image of the Phoenix rising out of the flames came to my mind at a time of great personal change. It was May 2001 and I was leaving the security of a full time job in which I had been responsible for the administration of Aura-Soma training worldwide, and for which I had spent the previous nine years.

The Phoenix is an ancient symbol of rebirth, of positive transformation through the process of change. Phoenix Enterprises became the name of my new business. Its purpose is to inspire and support positive change in peoples lives through education and related products.

In India a would-be student traditionally offers dry sticks to the guru signifying that he is ready to relinquish his karma. The wood is to be offered to the flames representing the purifying fire of spirit. With a similar symbolism the Phoenix rises from the flames, born into new life ... consciousness experiencing release through the burning of attachments to the material world.

The Phoenix is the exalted state of Scorpio, the sign that is opposite to Taurus, the fixed Earth sign. Transforming in its relationship to the earth, the Phoenix holds a different value: - consciousness, a rebirth of spirit.
